The Golden Oyster is a fast growing mushroom in the Pleurotus family. This attractive mushroom fruits easily on a wide range of ligneous substrates. The mushrooms grow in clusters of small, funnel-shaped bright yellow caps. One of the popular edible mushrooms, the flavor improves with thorough cooking. These mushrooms can be bitter when raw or undercooked, but take on a nutty flavor when cooked thoroughly.
